Insights on the Intersection of Work and Wealth
Morgan Stanley At Work
(2025)

Morgan Stanley at Work, in partnership with 8 Acre Perspective, conducted research among executives to understand their needs and perspectives, both as equity compensation plan decision-makers and as individuals participating in the plan.

The research was conducted with 200 executives at companies with $10M+ annual revenue. Participation was limited to executives involved in selecting or managing the company equity compensation plan. Key takeaways from the research include:

  • As company executives, equity leaders must balance the demands of employees and the business. The ideal equity compensation plan provider delivers flexibility for the business and service for employees, without driving up costs.
  • When it comes to personal finances, executives are financially savvy, yet many are likely not optimizing their financial situation. Executives require advanced financial advice that extends beyond basic planning to include estate strategies, tax optimization and navigating the complexities of equity awards.
  • Even financially savvy executives want more guidance—both on managing their workplace equity compensation plan and their personal finances.
  • Customization matters: executives want dedicated, customized support for complex financial needs (both within and outside the workplace).
