Schroders, a global asset management firm, partnered with 8 Acre Perspective to conduct the fourth wave of its annual study focused on retirement attitudes and trends. This study was conducted among 2,000 U.S. consumers aged 27-79. Highlights include:
- Working Americans ages 45 and older on average believe it will take $1.1 million to retire comfortably. Unfortunately, just 21% say they’ll reach $1 million.
- 85% of millennials worry about money every day, on average: 1.9 hours a day – 13 hours a week – 28 full days a year.
- 56% with workplace retirement plans wished they received more guidance from their employer on how to invest their plan.
- 64% of working Millennials, and 53% of workers age 45+, are concerned that financial stress will negatively affect their overall health.
- 57% of non-retired Americans are concerned about having no more regular paychecks in retirement.
